Fifteen standard-bearers from the business economy and universities signed a petition. Which Nuffic, the Dutch organisation for international cooperation in higher education, will place as an advertisement in Dutch paper de Volkskrant.
More and more countries search for top students and the Netherlands can't afford to stay behind, the fifteen state. While the country has a strong international position, it hasn't got the reputation it deserves. Therefore it's required that the Netherlands take a more prolific position on the international market, in and outside of the classroom, and supply more scholarships. Higher education, government and the business community should operate as one team doing so.
Nuffic also warns that this isn't a superfluous luxury but a hard condition for social and economical success of the Netherlands. [HC/HOP, translation: AR]
