Most of the comedians linked to the Comedy Explosion are Dutch. But at Wednesday November 19th, the stage of De Avenue in Breda, will host a variety of comedians from all over the globe. Steve Hughes from ‘down under’, Englishman Neville Raven and Belgian comedy prodigy Michael van Peel, are well equipped to entertain a multinational audience.
The chain smoking, beer drinking Australian Steve Hughes doesn’t appear to be a very sparkling personality, based on his looks. But his laidback provocative way of commenting on current events made people from all around the world burst into blissful tears.
Neville Raven was born and raised in London. After a rather successful spell as a stand-up comedian in Britain, he crossed the Channel and is now making fun of everyday life in The Netherlands in a typically British way.
The third comedian of the night comes from Antwerp in Belgium. Michael van Peel is described in his home country as a fresh talent with bags of Flemish flair. He’s the only comedian of this Comedy Explosion edition whose show is in Dutch.
Tickets to Comedy Explosion, which starts at 8.30pm, cost ten euros. And for five euros more you can have a meal prior to the acts. Tickets can be booked by calling 0900-1100100 or by sending an e-mail to comedy@de-avenue.nl. [JM]
