A former Avans student is among the victims of the terrorist attack that took place in Paris last Friday. Marie Lausch graduated from the Avans School of International Studies (ASIS) last summer.
She died in the attack on the Bataclan concert hall, where she celebrated her five-year anniversary with her boyfriend Mathias with him and some friends. Mathias also did not survive.
ASIS lecturers were informed about her tragic death yesterday. They gathered this morning to grieve together. ‘With some students, you hear their name and immediately recall their face. Marie was one of those students’, a lecturer said.
ASIS students will hold a vigil tonight on the Grote Markt square in Breda at 7:00 p.m. A second vigil will be held later this week, as a large group of ASIS students is currently in Krakow on a field trip. The staff of Asis has written an in memoriam.
