16 international students receive a 3.000 euro scholarship from Avans University of Applied Sciences. The institution awards the Avans Scholarships every year to its top performing students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA). This year’s recipients hail from countries including China, Thailand, Russia and South Korea.
Avans has set up the scholarship programme to encourage non-EEA students to enroll at Avans. These students are often required to pay higher tuition fees than Dutch or EEA students. The scholarship helps make pursuing a study programme at Avans more affordable.
The majority of this year’s scholarship winners are art students at the School of Fine Art and Design|St.Joost. The other students are studying International Business and Management Studies or Environmental Science for Sustainable Energy and Technology.
The following students have been awarded a scholarship: Anna Aleshina, Varian Arif, André Garcia Burnier, Jason Edwards, Mengying Hu, Xiaoyu Jiang, Jinyoung Kim, Vinh Nguyen, Mohadeseh Rahimitabar, Duo Ren, Ming Shi, Alexandr Smirnov, Huei Yuan Tien, Luna Verano, Sijing Zhang and Yizhu Zhou.
